| Our
philosophy is demonstrated by our treatment of the person as a whole,
not just their diagnosis or injured part. Rather than asking,”
How stiff and painful is your healing wrist?” we ask, “How
does that stiffness and pain effect who you are and what you do?”
Treatment
is custom designed to fit each individual person’s needs and
wants. The treatment must be meaningful to the person while being
appropriate to the diagnosis. Your Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
will remain in close contact with your doctor to ensure efficient
and timely treatment.
Our name Signature was chosen to reflect both functional use and
fine motor control which is overlooked. Fine motor tasks, such as
the ability to sign one’s name, is often overlooked until
something occurs, preventing us from being able to complete them.

We
wanted a name dynamic in presence yet basic in meaning. We’ve
created a presence which brings to minds motor skills as well as
the ability to place your arm and hand in a meaningful and useful
way.
Patients often describe their inabilities in terms
of “I can’t”. This relates to the concept of your
hands being tied behind your back. The list is endless.
“ I can’t pick up my child” “I can’t
open a jar”…… At Signature hand therapy,
we can help to either fix the problem (increase range of motion,
decrease pain when performing a task, increase strength) or to help
compensate for a loss (teaching one handed ADL techniques, evaluating
for use of adaptive equipment, work station modification) to help
complete tasks.
